Compass Retail partners with Blackwell's at Nottingham University

Compass Group UK & Ireland's Retail business has partnered with bookshop retailer, Blackwell's, in a new contract at Nottingham University.

The joint venture comprises a new Costa Coffee café within the Blackwell's bookshop in the University's Portland Building.

The five year contract is worth approximately £2 million in total turnover and marks Compass Retail's second deal within the University's grounds: Compass currently operates the retail areas at the campus-based teaching hospital, Queen's Medical Centre.

Lynn King, Business Director - Retail at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said, "Working with Blackwell's is a fantastic new opportunity for Compass. The joint venture allows both companies to combine their specialities, resulting in a much improved student experience".

Josh Green, Manager of Blackwell's at Nottingham University, said, "We are delighted that Costa Coffee will be located in Blackwell's Bookshop. The addition of a coffee shop further enhances our offering to students and makes Blackwell's a key destination for students and staff."
